Welcome to the World of Arl
You command an entire nation, a nation of whatever you create. Where will you lead your nation? Will you rule over the lands with an iron fist of military strength? Will you be the richest of the rich and simply buy out your enemies or will you master the intricacies of magic? The challenge here is not just achieving such a goal, but achieving that goal amongst many other nations run by other people. Not run by computers but by other people, each as eager as you to fulfill their objectives. Not all the nations you meet will be out to kill you, some will likely be happy to be friends with you and you will have to decide how to deal with that too.
But it's not all about invading other people's nations. The World of Arl forum consists of a friendly and close-knit community and many say that the community is better than the game itself. Though played only in English, the game is open to all that can speak even a little of it. Several people have moved to the tops of their classes in subjects that help with the game, such as maths, english, science and history. Yes, you can even claim that the game is educational!
So what can be done?
Good question, what can you do? Lets assume that you want to take control of a city that's not currently yours. I listed a few of the methods you can use to make it yours, not all of them involve leaving enemy cities intact.- Invade with an army
- Assassinate the enemy leader(s)
- Subvert the populace
- Create an Earthquake
- Alter the weather
- Ask your god for aid
- Prevent food imports
- Economically cripple them
- Set loose the beasts of the wild
How to get started
If you're still reading, I'm assuming you're at least interested. To get started, register on the web board and make a topic announcing your interest to get started. There is a special forum on the board for making such posts, the Team application forum. Make a post there saying who you are and maybe a little about yourself and you'll have several teams asking if you'd join them.
