The World of Arl Backstory

Creation

Arl, the great Arl, did not create all the Worlds but he did form the Worlds of Arl. His first 8 works were all failures, the worlds were too small and fell apart on themselves, he carried the beings of each world onto the next world that he created, they became the Chosen Ones. Finally he created the 9th World of Arl.

Arl grasped at the emptiness and shaped out of it the Sun that shines light and life on the World of Arl. Arl rejoiced as he seeded the world with life, he placed all the people onto this world of his. There were many races, from the great and mighty Trchkithin to the ignoble and soon to be dead Huderf. Arl delighted in us all but alas the treacherous Nazeen waged a foolish war upon us, we took their land and made slaves of their people that we would not be slaves ourselves. The leader of the Nazeen, Draa, declared that we had invaded them and that we were the oppressors.

The leader of each race was given a power, Draa had the power of healing and he refused to heal the lover of Trchkithin. Trchkithin's lover died of a wasting illness and Trchkithin, our leader whom we are named after, slew Draa and took the power of healing from him. The Nazeen declared that Trchkithin had now declared war on them and renewed their attacks on us.

The speech

Thankfully, mighty Trchkithin was a great and noble speaker, she rallied many to our side. Her speeches caused many to aid us in our hour of need, Ezali in particular was one of the first to aid us and spoke much with Trchkithin. Trchkithin's greatest speech was given just before the final assault on the Nazeen capital.
Original translation by Kniegithin
Day today is great, we united, we fail false. Nazeen slaves of us today. Nazeen land ours and our allies great.

Modern translation by Weyady
Today is a great day, we are united as one people, we cannot fail. The Nazeen will all be our slaves before sundown today. We will rejoice as we take the land of those that would oppress us and celebrate our good and great allies.
It is unknown why such a pathetic speech had such great effect. It was not psychologically manipulative nor was their some non-verbal persuasion. Our records from the time do concur with the accuracy of this report and I personally feel something is missing.

The attack

We had the advantage, Trchkithin in her wisdom told us to cut down the trees and use them to smash open the gates of Draneen. The gates were expected to hold for days but they held only for minutes. The captain of Trchkithin's guard, Ketge, led the breaching of the gate but the cowardly Nazeen had left a trap of false floor and spiked pits. Trchkithin was almost overcome with sorrow but did not exact vengeance. Our records indicate that once she heard of Ketge's death, Trchkithin ordered all Nazeen to be slain.

With the Nazeen removed as a threat some other leaders grew jealous and tried to slay Trchkithin. Trchkithin however was not where they thought she would be and they sated their bloodlust on each other. Trchkithin personally delivered the bodies to their respective people. Ezali the lord of light accused Trchkithin of instigating the entire war and then privately goading the other leaders into their assassination attempt.

Despair

The constant wars and accusations thrown around had not gone unnoticed by the great Arl. Arl stepped in and prevented us from taking the lands of Ezali's people, he descended to the planet and spoke with Trchkithin in private. I was fortunate enough to hear what was said, Ezali was told to apologise for his insult and Trchkithin to stop her war. Trchkithin agreed but Ezali never apologised. Our records say that nobody was able go near the three and that all that could be heard was a great roaring sound.

Trchkithin told Ezali that if he did not take back his words then there would be blood between them, bad blood. Ezali kept his silence and Trchkithin slew her in the night, ripping Ezali's head from his body and taking the power of light. The people of Ezali fled but Trchkithin did not pursue and gave their land over to the Lontha.

War

We turned to fortifying their lands and excluding ourselves from others, we had three times as much land as anybody else and were completely self-sufficient. The Lontha came under attack from Ezali's people and a great war ensued, we stayed out of it, Arl was weeping and we had no desire to add to it.

Arl left, he departed to where we did not know and said only that he would return when his people stopped fighting. This is the first prophecy of Arl.
