The aftermath and rise of the Three

With Arl gone, the World of Arl quickly devolved into mindless warfare. Trchkithin made clear to all that we would not be taken advantage of. The Belshiburth, masters of siege warfare, attacked us thinking that our high walls to be a good challenge for their catapults. Trchkithin brought together her best assassins and led them against the capital of the Belshiburth. Over the course of 4 nights they poisoned the food and water supplies and then on the 5th, assassinate Belshi and her government.

The Belshiburth army outside our city of Khurknr had breached a wall but could not breakthrough. The Belshiburth army was not used to city fighting and reluctant to advance. When news of the deaths from home reached them they turned and retreated slowly and cautiously. The Pakmara were neighbours of both ourselves and the Belshiburth. We told the Pakmara of the amry but not the capital, while the Pakmara army fought the Belshiburth army, we claimed the Belshiburth capital.

The Pakmara declared us thieves but the wise Trchkithin had foreseen this and the Trchkithin army was waiting within the wales of all Trchkithin cities. The Pakmara were unsuccessful in all their attacks. While they were attacking us they left their cities undefended, the Yfrim took this oppertunity to invade the Pakmara. As the Yfrim struck at the Pakmara forces, the Pakmara military about faced and drove into the Yfrim forces.

Evolution

Trchkithin informed the Pakmara that if they did not give up one third of their land as penance for their behaviour, we would take half of their land and the other half would be taken by the Yfrim. The Pakmara never replied, the Yfrim and their allies the Rodlish horse warriors were at war with them. The Pakmara leader Felin was slain in a battle as he valiantly fought against a far superior foe, his head being taken by the elite guard of the Rodlish.

While the Pakmara were being slain in battle, Trchkithin led our army into the Pakmara territory and took three quarters of their land. The rest was taken by the Yfrim. We closed borders with all around us, we engaged in some minor skirmishes and took some small tracts of land but nothing worthy of this log. Our records say that the Trchkithin more than doubled their territory size, they took ninety percent of our land over the course of a ten year war.

After the wars died down, peace reigned for just over a hundred years. During this time the Trchkithin, Carneti and Reichoc were the dominant powers and thus the history account will focus on them.

Trchkithin

The Trchkithin were always like-minded but they developed a rudimentary hive-mind, each Trchkithin could read the most superficial thoughts and emotions of those around them. The Trchkithin also grew more aggressive and violent, they altered some of the animals in their territory to be better hunters. They became a people obsessed with perfection, they had to be the best at what they did. The years of isolation served best to enhance their feelings of justice and righteousness.

Carneti

The Carneti became a free thinking and open people, they pursued knowledge in all forms, magical and mundane, destructive and constructive. They became a very clever people, but with this came arrogance, haughtiness and self-importance. The Carneti developed gunpowder and levvied a very large army, they were the ones that broke the peace. It is thought by many that Trchkithin influenced the Carneti leader Onlod in some way. Onlod was always a wise, reserved and peaceful leader.

Reichoc

The Reichoc did not change much, they developed a complicated code of honour, never surrender without a fight and never fight without a good reason. Always give quarter, no matter who your enemy is and what they have done. The Reichoc style of fighting involved using a pair of swords, primitive and weak swords. They had no ranged forces and very poor technology, it is no surprise that the Carneti chose the Reichoc as their target.

War

The Carneti were wary of provoking Trchkithin and her people but the Reichoc were another matter. The Carneti style of war was ruthless and revolved around making war for the opponent so horrific that they would rather surrender than fight, it was not because they were nasty but because it made the most logical sense.

The Carneti war against the Reichoc was brutal and unrelenting, within a year the Carneti had taken almost half the Reichoc territory. They took no prisoners and showed no mercy, the Reichoc had never fought a war like this before, they had never even imagined fighting like this.

Our attack struck at the least defended area of the Carneti lands, we were quite capable of enduring the Carneti method of war. When the Carneti Emperor learnt of the invasion he ordered the war on the Reichoc to cease and their land given back to them. The Reichoc were so surprised and inexperienced in full scale war that they didn't chase the Carneti down.

Permanently scarred

The Reichoc were a battered and beaten people, that which they cared not about had been snatched from them and they turned every aspect of their selves to war. They blindly attacked the Carneti and because of the Trchkithin they succeeded. The Carneti were massacred and the Reichoc attacked us and in their weakened state they were swatted aside by our armies like gnats.

The Reichoc were wiped out swiftly, they had not taken time to re-build at all. Trchkithin then decided that the entire world was best ruled by one, she would watch over it until Arl's return. However, our military commanders made many mistakes and failed to fortify what we took. This would be the undoing of the single greatest hope that the World of Arl has ever had.
